Macbook Bridge 2021 smart collections vanished

A few weeks ago I helped a friend sort out his whole collection of photos in Bridge and set up smart collections for all his keywords. When he opened bridge this morning all the smart collections have vanished.

He has updated to the latest version of Bridge and is on a Mac Book with the newest operating system.

I don't want to have to go through the whole process again and, even if I do, I need to find out what went wrong to avoid it happening again.

Thanks in advance (hopefully)

Hi @David Ceruti

You can copy the collection files from the 'Bridge 2020/Collections' folder to 'Bridge 2021/Collections' under the following location

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe

Then you would be able to view the collections in Bridge 2021 as well.

Thanks,

Bridge Team

Are the smart collections gone or just empty? What version of Bridge did he use to set them up?

@lumigraphics The collections have totally disappeared, we used the previous version of bridge before the latest update.

Thanks

Go into the User Library folder, Application Support, Adobe, Bridge and check the older version folder. Bridge asks if you want to migrate settings from the older version, if you say no then they are not migrated over.

Thank you! I went in to the previous version and found some of the smart collections but not all that I remember creating so I ended up redoing the whole lot.

Luckily, I found the shortcut of searching on the keyword and the using that to create the smart collection.

Keep well, stay safe.
