How do I make sure I have the latest updates for Photoshop or Lightroom.

I think I have the latest updates but I'm unsure and I don't know how to check for updates and install them.

Many issues users encounter can be solved by simply updating Photoshop (and Adobe Camera Raw) and/or Lightroom to the latest version.

The following article shows you how to tell what version currently you have and how to check for and install updates:

Photoshop 12.0.4 is available. It enables communication with applications running the touch SDK, and fixes some bugs. more info here: http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2011/05/...

The above instructions apparently don't apply to Photoshop Elements 9. The issue is that it can no longer get videos from my iPhone. It will still get photos, but thinks the phone is disconnected when it comes to videos. I'm assuming that the iPhone is updating at a faster pace than Photoshop can keep up with. :(

The instructions above will work for Elements as well. Choose Help>Updates... to update your copy of Photoshop Elements.

Elements should be able to deal with any file that QuickTime reads. If you're seeing something different, I'd suggest starting a different topic for that problem.
