Photoshop CC 2015: Why am I unable to change the color of the background for documents with Artboards?

I just updated to 2015, I would like to change the color of the interface from white to black. The option that show when I right out of the art board. It gives me the option to change to black, dark gray, medium gray, default, or custom color.

Well, when I click on the color option, I tried all of them, it still didnt change the color on the interface.

I restarted the computer, I removed and added the CC2105, still doesnt fix the problem.

See this document for details on using Artboards: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/artboards.html

Artboards are optimized for documents in RGB color mode and using the Advanced setting for drawing mode using your graphics Processor.

Set Drawing Mode to Advanced: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cc-gpu-card-faq.html#topic-4

If you don't have advanced settings, your card may not be powerful enough, or the driver may be out of date. Troubleshoot graphics card: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html

For instructions for restoring your preferences, see: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Restore%20preference%20files%20to%20default

Problem occurs in CMYK mode. In RGB works fine.

Do you know if there are any plans for making it functional in CMYK mode? It's a very useful feature to keep track of different stages of my drawings prior to printing but not practical if I can't see the borders of my Artboards.

I was able to fix this by quitting photoshop,  then completely resetting the photoshop preferences.

(On windows, you can hold CTRL + SHIFT + ALT while starting photoshop, and keep it held down until you get the confirmation dialog)

The pc I'm working on could only use "Basic" graphics acceleration, so I don't think that it's an absolute requirement to switch it to Normal or Advanced.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Photoshop: Artboard background will not change and defaults as white.

When I open a new doc, the background is defaulted white, but the canvas is white as well. Because I can't change the background color, I'm not able to set an alternate color so I can see the artboards outline.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Cannot change artboard background color in Photoshop workspace on right-click..

Right-clicking the artboard in Photoshop conveys options to set its color, however none of the selected options are applied when clicked.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled PHOTOSHOP CC 2015 - problems with Artboard backgrounds.

I've created and saved a PS document with multiple artboards. When I open the document all artboards have white backgrounds. When my teammate opens the document artboard backgrounds are transparent. We are both running the same version of PS.

My default document settings are transparent, but if I create a new artboard it defaults to white.

What am I missing???
