The Camera Raw Cache setting doesn't take into account the Max Size setting.
1 y ago
cant read screen. what are you trying to say? what is the problem?
In settings the cache is set to max 5Gb, when I checked the foldersize: 8,6Gb
I just regained 55GB by Purge Cache, mine had been set to 50GB, so same as yours, it's allowed to go over. Maybe just bad coding? Just Purge Cache and no worries!
@Carlos Cardona indeed... but what's the purpose if implementing a max cache when it's ignored?
8.6 GB camera raw cache folder size seems large for only 2,939 image files. Try the 'Purge Cache' button. LrC will rebuild the cache and should respect your 5.0 GB setting. My cache size is about 1.0 GB per 1,000 image files. Keep in mind as you add more image files and the cache reaches 5.0 GB you may see a drop off in performance.
The 'Purge Cache' works... Just posted this message because LrC doesn't take into account the Preference Settings.
@karelu There is no purpose in bad coding, it's just a mistake we have to live with (but don't hate, coding a huge app isn't easy, cut them some slack).
If Purge Cache works (i.e goes to 0 GB) and the Camera Raw Cache is still creeping passed the 5.0 GB maximum setting you may have a corrupted Preferences file. Try resetting it as outlined at the below link.
How can we improve?
