Lightroom Classic: How to filter for a particular word phrase...without getting other similar ones?

I'd like to set up smart collections for particular locations. For example the keyword needed would be  "Boulder County". However the line for Boulder County catches Larimer County, Summit County etc. or Boulder Potters Guild, Boulder Digital Arts, ...you get the picture.

Without having a separate line that excludes the other ones how do you just include the images with the Boulder County keyword?

I know I can do this with the Keyword list and the Filter bar but it would be nice to have a collection as some searches would be more complex.

GPS data filtering is not an option for most of these images.

And is there a written help text that describes the all details of the Smart Collection searching?

Unbelievably, LR doesn't provide an exact-match operator for keywords. But in smart collections, you can use these two criteria:

Keywords starts with Boulder County

Keywords ends with Boulder County

For practical purposes, this will give you nearly exact matches to "Boulder County". (If you're wondering, it would also match "Boulder County Boulder County".)

You were likely using the criterion

Keywords contains Boulder County

which will match keywords that contain "Boulder" or "County" anywhere inside them.

The search operators are only partially documented -- see here:

Thanks, John! You solved my headache. I agree there should be an exact-match operator but your workaround is helpful. Even though the logic is a bit obscure.

And thank you as well for the links to the help pages.

An Exact Match operator is definitely a LONG term glaring omission for keywords.  The strange thing is it works if you click the arrow next to a keyword such as "Boulder County" so the code is there to do it.

Yes, you are right. I think the smart collection features should match the Filter Bar and the Keyword list filtering.
