Lightroom Classic: Progress Bar Misplacement

In my screen configuration (4K at 250% scale), the progress bar on Lightroom Classic is misplaced and doesn't allow me to read the progress text very well. And it triggers my OCD. It's been happening with me for quite a while, from multiple versions and re-installs.

On Windows, Lightroom only displays correctly with the default scaling and resolution. This is mostly a Windows problem. I was going nuts with my 4K and 5K monitors until I realized this. Just a fact of life for us to live with until Windows improves their handling of these settings.

I thought so, Windows resolution management really sucks. Was just thinking that Adobe could be nice and maybe make minor adjustments to the UI based on resolution and scale selected.

It would be nice but an absolute nightmare for Adobe. It is rightfully Microsoft's problem and affects many applications, not just Lightroom. Think of the literally billions of combinations that Adobe would have to code for. At least all the apps I work with display correctly with the defaults, not something that could be said 10 years ago.

  1. right click on the desktop
  2. scroll down to Scale and layout
  3. Choose Recommended for both Scale and layout and Display resolution

Notes:

  • Sometimes you can get away with minor differences. On my BenQ 32" 4K display, 175% works as well as the recommended 150%. But most of the time Lightroom has problems with anything other than the recommended setting. This is the screen shot form the Dell 27" 4K which doesn't work well with any other setting.
  • Not sure why anyone would want anything other than Landscape for Lightroom but I tried it for fun and the results were really strange. That was back in the early V9 days so no comment about later releases or versions.

This is my setting and Ive changed them  and no changews.  still again if Adobe allowed resizing of the Dialog box it would help.
