Lightroom Classic: Vary slide duration in slideshow

Should have the ability to vary slide duration in slideshow by selecting a slide (or slides) and changing the slide duration and fade from the default setting in order to make it stay on the screen for a shorter or longer time that the default. Pretty important--more than several of the other features (color wash?) in the current list. Very important for pacing and different types of sequences in the same show.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled lightroom slideshow timing of slides and transitions.

I was an Aperture user and very happy, but had to switch to LR when Apple stopped supporting its software. I am very happy with LR, but find the Slideshow function very lacking. I can manage not having an integrated music component, but find the restriction of one time for length of slide and one time for transition very annoying. Why is it not possible to have the slide time and transition time vary by slide/transition? That was a great feature in Aperture and I don't think involves much programming change.

The original comment was made 6 years ago, and the next one was 3 years ago, and STILL adobe hasn't fixed this issue in Lightroom for slideshows. Why? Surely not everyone likes constant duration presentations. I don't.

You're probably right Alex, but they have to prioritize where they'll put their efforts, and this thread only gained 7 votes in 6 years, which suggests it's not a high priority for many people. I would assume that's why it hasn't been done.
