Lightroom Classic: White bar appears in Develop module (macOS)

Hi!

I'm running the Lightroom 5.7.1. Version on a Mac and when displaying the photo info in the develop module, a white bar appears and hides part of the image.

I am new to Mac. I used Lightroom on Windows for years, and never had this problem.

How can I solve this?

I appreciate any help on this issue.

I'm having the same problem and it's driving me crazy! I've been using Lightroom for years and this problem just showed up recently.

Lightroom 5.7.1 is really old (released December 2014) and Big Sur is really new. I'm amazed you managed to get it to install. The solution to your problem is to upgrade to a compatible version of Lightroom, in this case, Lightroom Classic.

It shouldn't install. I suspect an update to the OS was performed on a system already containing LrC 5.7.1

Yes, I installed LR with Catalina version and after I've done the update.

Related to the problem I posted, is there any solution?

So, looking at the screenshot, are you referring to the info overlay?

A number of people running old versions of LR (6 and earlier?) have reported that on Mac OS 11 (Big Sur) the Loupe Info background is not transparent like it should be, causing the white bar. E.g.

One workaround is to turn it off by doing the menu command View > Loupe Info > Show Info Overlay (or use the keyboard shortcuts shown in the menu).

Thank you! Following your instructions (View > Loupe Info > Show Info Overlay) took the white bar away. Many thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge to help others!

This is not a solution. Not having the information overlay is not a solution for the white bar.

We always had this option of having the information overlay (1 or 2) or having no information at all.

@Cristiano Justino the solution is to upgrade to a current version of Lightroom that is compatible with Big Sur. Turning off the overlay is a workaround for those who wish to continue using their old versions.
