Lightroom Desktop: Sorting options

Currently I can only sort between "RAW" and "IMAGE".  There should also be a "JPEG" and even a "Video" option here.

You may be in a folder that does not have any JPEG or video files. It only shows the file types in the selected folder. Try switching to All Photos and see if it changes.
In All Photos if you type the word "extension" in the search field you can choose jpg from the list to find any of your jpgs. Put the word "type" in Search and you should see Video as a choice.

Doesn’t seem to matter what folder/album im in. The only two options are always “raw” and “image”

Could you confirm this by going to Help>System Info… and get us the exact installed version number of your software. It's the first line in the window.

I ran the CC updates just yesterday, I’ll send the specifics tomorrow. But it’s the same on my phone iPad and laptop too.  PS this isn’t new, it’s been a complaint I e had for a while. Image below screenshot from phone, but it’s identical on my main editing machine.

That's working as designed. "Type" in the Filter bar gives a fairly coarse sub-division of the filtered assets, such as Raw files, RBG files (Tif,PSD,Jpeg), Video files, HDR and Panorama files. If you want a finer division, use the Search bar, not the Filter bar, and search on "Extension".

I guess that works, but seems like flaw in design then.  Or at least there should be a file type "coarse" option.
