Lightroom Desktop: Why is Synching so slow!!

I have a 250Mbps download, 100Mbps upload fiber connection and I can only get LR to sync @ 15 - 20Mbps!!!

Sure I have 90gb to sync but I would have expected that to be done in a couple of hours max but so far it's not finished after 9.5hrs!!! WTAF??

Is this an artificial limitation that Adobe has?

Hi FFH4500,

this is a question to Adobe but let me entertain you in meantime.

There are other users who want to sync their pictures, you are not alone with your super fast internet connection.

Based on my experience with my slow 100Mbs download/10Mbs Upload line, you are in a happy situation with your mentioned sync speed.

Have a nice Sunday, go out and take more pictures

Thanks for your response Peter.

I am well aware of how networks operate, I have been in the IT industry for over 30yrs.

I am also well aware that other multi billion dollar companies like Microsoft, Google (Youtube in particular) and Amazon can, and do, provision appropriate amounts of bandwidth so their paying customers have an almost seemless experience. It is not unreasonable to expect the same from Adobe.

But my post was more aimed at trying to ascertain whether this was a global, regional or local issue. This will help when I lodge a ticket with Adobe. :-)

Hello FFH4500,

last August I have synced my 350GB pictures from LR CC Cloud to LR Classic and experienced 4kBit/s per second even I have a download 100KBit/s line. I am living in Germany. You see your sync speed is much higher.

best regards

Peter
