Lightroom Mobile: iOS: Missing Pictures, Presets, and Watermark Data after 5.4 Update

Yesterday when I use the Lightroom Mobile, it was okay. I still have my presets and pictures saved in the apps but today , 18th August 2020 , after I updated the apps on Apps Store, all of my pictures and presets gone. I really need this to be fix as soon as possible. Please help me as I really need all those pictures and presets.

The update did not work for me, it is the same library (PHOTOS and PRESETS) as half an hour ago.
I do appreciate the fast rollout of this update, thank you team Adobe for trying to fix the error.

It worked for me. I went to the App Store to make sure it was 5.4.1, downloaded it and then opened LR from there. It reloaded all the photos and the presets are also available. I have not yet touched the computer updates. I'll wait until the end of the day.

Opened the app today and was confused to see only one single photo from back in 2016. After some search arrived at this thread and updated to the 5.4.1 version but it did not help. Still no photos or presets from 4 years of editting.

Adobe team, please implement a local backup function for pictures, the edits, album and folder structure plus presets. You see how easily a data loss can happen.

For non adobe creative cloud synced customer who don't have a full iCloud / Mac / Pc of the previous days  backup of their full device, I'm afraid :
- There is no other solution
- Adobe don't care that much because they aren't creative cloud paying customers.

Kris, this is really a disaster for Adobe and they will try all they can to find a fix, but you are right, an existing Apple iCloud or iTunes Backup is probably the only chance. We should ask Apple for a better restore functionality as well, because to restore the whole iPad instead of a single app is not a good way.

So, the way that I read that official response is ‘sorry if you updated and lost everything, there is no way of getting it back. But, for those who didn’t update, everything should be fine.’

Am I reading that right? There is no response to say we are working on getting your presets/images back.

Unfortunately for some people who have an iOS that auto updates apps, my phone automatically did the LightRoom Update 5.4.0 so “skipping” that bad update really doesn’t work.

I’m very upset that my presets are all missing from Lightroom mobile!! I have a small fortune invested in them and I went on to use it a few minutes ago and noticed they were all gone. I’m extremely upset and I hope that I get my Presets back because I have probably $200 worth of Presets and that’s not cool!

I am one of the lucky ones on this thread. I have my photos and presets. I am running iOS 13.6 on an iPhone 11 Pro. My main editing is done in LRClassic and I use LR as a supplement. I also just checked the web version lightroom.adobe.com and my edits and photos are there too. I'll ask a dumb question. If I didn't have the photos on my phone or iPad would they also be gone from the web? Is the web just a sync from LR mobile?

Hi Betsy, I understand that all users without an actual sync to Adobe cloud are affected. Without a subscription it is not possible to sync to sync to Adobe cloud. And users with subscription but paused sync are affected as well.

You could try to restore your data.Check this on your device:
Settings - apple id - icloud - manage storage - backups - select your current device - search for Lightroom in apps. 

If it switched on and showing some size. You could try next.
Better on another device. Reset device. And login to your apple id. Select to restore device from icloud backup. Select backup with date before data erasing. After restoring. Check Lightroom version in app store (it should be last). And now you could load the app.

Kirill, I can see my iPad has 462GB backed up to iCloud from Lightroom. I can’t see how to restore it though?
