"Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?" and/or "White Rabbit" splash screen displays when opening Photoshop.

When running Photoshop CS5 after updating Mac OS to 10.6.5 or 10.6.6 and I see the following behaviors:

  • The warning, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?" appears when you open Photoshop.

  • The startup screen reads White Rabbit, instead of Photoshop CS5, and looks different.

  • Tools behave as if the Shift or Option keys are pressed.

  • The cursor remains the plug sign (+).

What gives?

This is an issue that was introduced in Mac OS 10.6.5, and also exists in 10.6.6.

To correct the issue, update to Mac OS 10.6.7 by choosing "Software Update..." from the Apple menu in OS X.

More details are available in the following knowledge base document:

Alert "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?" | Tools, functions behave strangely | Photoshop CS5 | Mac OS 10.6.5, 10.6.6
