Answered

How do I get started, installing the 12.0.4 update for CS5, creating remote connections, and using the new Photoshop Companion Apps?

I want to start using the new Photoshop Touch Apps (Nav, Eazel, and Color Lava). How do I install the 12.0.4 update for Photoshop CS5? How do I set up Remote Connections? How do I connect each of the apps to Photoshop?

The 12.0.4 update for Photoshop CS5 is available now. Choose Help>Updates... to install:

the video says "private" anyway to see this now that update is out? I ask because I'm not seeing the "remote connections" choice under my File menu. I updated just an hour ago.

Also, I don't see the new adobe apps in the apps store. any word on those?

Thanks for the update on the touch apps. But Jeff, installing the update isn't my problem. When I look i cannot find: "(Located in the File menu: Remote Connections)" ... no, it's not. Unless it's buried somewhere that is totally escaping me.

Any further help? thanks

When you do "About Photoshop" does it show 12.0.4 as the version in the splash screen?

Edit Menu, not File Menu -- right below the Preset Manager, above Color Settings.

Thanks, Jeff. That's what was throwing me. The official press release says under the "file" menu, it's actually under the EDIT menu. Appreciate the quick replies.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm working on updating the language there.

Yes, nice videos, but it doesn't matter to me because I still don't have the apps. I've seen loads of videos ;)

It would be nice if the website said "Coming May X" and leave it at that. Rather than giving nothing, but "we'll notify you" and continue to tease you until we decide to release them.

Also saying "It won't be long." could mean anything. 6 minutes from now? 72 days isn't that long either?

I'm not bitter, I'm really joking around. I'm mostly just looking forward to fingerpainting with Eazel and I'm tired of waiting ;)

Yeah, I can't say exactly. Longer than 6 minutes, but way less than 72 days.

The apps are live on the Apple App Store. The Getting Started Video is also available now (in my official response at the top of the page).
