Photoshop 2020: I don't have the additional selections that the new 'Home Panel' has

After updating to the latest version of Ps 2020 I notice that the 'Home Panel' did not update from the previous version. It functions but I don't have the additional selections that the 2020 'Home Panel' has. I reset my preferences but this did not change the 'Home Panel.' I am running on a Win7 Pro based system. As far as I can tell all else seems to be working as expected. Might this be an installation issue or a feature that required win10?

Can you post a screen shot of what you're seeing vs what you're expecting?

Sure Jeff,

The first screen shot is what I expected after upgrading to Ps 2020. It was taken from a You-Tube tutorial about the new features of Ps 2020. The second screen shot is what I actually have after my upgrade.

I hope this helps to shed so light on the matter.

Thanks!

Double-check to make sure that 2020 is what launched and not CC2019 or whatever previous version you had installed.

From my system info panel my current active version is:

Adobe Photoshop Version: 21.0.1 20191106.r.47 2019/11/06: 3152b481f18  x64

I think this is the latest version, right?

All the new 2020 features I attempted to play with are working.

Thanks!

That is crazy strange. Uninstall/Reinstall is the only fix I can think of.

I also note that if I select "Save As" I get a system "Save As" window with no offer or information about the new cloud option as shown in numerous tutorials.

Jeffrey, before I go through the uninstall/reinstall process can you verify with the development team if this could be a compatibility issue with Win7? The newest version of the CC Cloud app is not compatible with Win7 and reverts to the earlier UI upon installation. This may be a similar issue in this case.

This morning I started doing some editing and all the other new features seem to work as expected. I agree, my issue does seem crazy strange.

Thanks in advance!

Hi JC - You're right. Windows 7 doesn't support Cloud Documents

Thanks for following up on my request. You've been very helpful to me personally and to many others on this forum

It is a bit disappointing that Adobe isn't a more informative about changing system requirements when they introduce new versions of their products. Both the new Desktop CC app and now Ps CC 2020 have limitations under Win 7 that Adobe was silent about.

It is natural and fitting that Adobe has deemphasized will not support Win 7 in the months and years ahead. I suggest that by highlighting the new features as they are introduced and indicating which of them will not be available under Win 7 would likely hasten the transition to Win 10 without causing those customers confusion and lost time as was the case for me.

Again, thanks for your help and willingness to engage with your customers. It is very refreshing!

Hi JC, apologies. Yes. This should have been more clear. I'm working to make this more clear in our documentation.
