Photoshop 22: Text highlight obscures the type

When highlighting text with the text tool, the highlight is an opaque white box, which completely hides the text.

I have highlighted the first line in the attached paragraph, for example:

I'm not able to produce this. Do you have a custom highlight color set in the OS? Could you post this file that you're seeing this with? (use dropbox or CC files and share URL)

Hi Jeffrey, here is a link to a layered file with the issue. It seems to be occurring on all files I've worked on this morning since the update. I've confirmed that it occurs in all Photoshop interface Color Themes, in Mojave Dark and Light modes, and with and without a custom highlight color in set in the OS prefs. Thank you for taking a look:

Thanks. Sorry, I had to get my Mojave machine set up. This is what I see with the text highlighted:

Only thing I can think of trying is a reset your prefs by moving the Photoshop Settings folder out using these instructions. If you do that, does it work correctly?

Yes, removing prefs seems to have fixed it. Strange that it started happening suddenly, but problem solved. Thank you so much for looking into it.

I noticed the same issue this morning.  I found the culprit is working in CMYK mode, as switching to RGB "fixes" it.

I searched for some time trying to find a solution, and there were a lot of references to disabling GPU in preferences, closing Ps, opening Ps, and re-enabling GPU (this did not solve the problem for me).  Trashing preferences did not solve the problem, either.  Switching from CMYK to RGB and back to CMYK does not eliminate the problem.

Seems like a bug in the recent Ps update(s).
