Added in Photoshop CC 2014.2.x

Select View>New Guide Layout...

Additionally, View>New Guide from Shape will create guides from selected shapes

The screenshot you provided does not meet the requirement from the original post "from selection", these guide settings are based off the entire document dimensions.

Sadly I still wish for guides to be added to a selection to the selection bounds (exactly how the new guides from shape feature works)... I have a hack, but a native method would be nice!

Check out GuideGuide, a panel for creating guides, from Cameron McEfee.

guideguide is great but it would be wonderful if it in photoshop built-in.

You sir (Jeff) are a good ManMan!

You would think PS would have come further along with guides/grids, but nothing really there unfortunately. Guess there isn't enough diatribe to push Adobe engineers to make improvements. Thus, GuideGuide is a big winner for me.

Very grateful to have this tool!

Photoshop: Automated Bleed Marks or Guides.

Can you have a dialog box either in the initial document set up or later, so that you type in the size of your bleed and it will automatically either show some type of bleed mark or set up guides around your canvas? This would make the process a lot easier. I don't want to have to break out the calculator every time I have a new canvas size. This would be great in all the cs design programs.

Guides for Photoshop and Illustrator - Just like Indesign..

I'd like to see the ability to create instant guides (rows and columns) as you can with Indesign CS6. I'd like this in PS and Illustrator. Also, I'd like to be able to set a bleed area as I do in Indesign in these programs, as I often mix and match programs.

Photoshop: Creating guides and grids in Photoshop for web design.

Will photoshop ever support an option to automate the creation of grids and guides (column and baseline) similar to InDesign? Many designers are using Photoshop to create web layouts and this would be an extremely useful addition. A similar plug-in has been developed.... http://guideguide.me/

Photoshop: Grid Panel.

Grids are a super-essential tool for the graphic designer. A super useful grid paned could define columns, gutters, their size & number, alignment to the canvas, and the option to see a 'columns overlay' over the document. And/or automatically add guides based on the columns.

A define baseline grid option would also be amazing, with paragraph text having the option to align to it.

Also, a way to save the gridlines settings per document. It's annoying to keep changing the global ones.

Thanks, you're doing a great job!
