Photoshop: Ability to set and save multiple crops from a single image

I would like PS to let me utilize multiple cropping, just as the SELECT tool does with SHIFT key. "SAVE FOR WEB" allows to save only as a gif or jpeg format. However, I want to save as a tif format. Because I will not use those cropped pics for any web application, therefore "SAVE FOR WEB" command does not serve my purposes.

Consequently, my idea is about the possibility of any extension and/or development on the operation of CROP tool, which by using shift key, enables us with multiple choice option, just like the SELECT tool offers. Thus, I can crop a picture into several areas and then save them as tif format using BATCH or ACTION command at one time. Otherwise it takes a lot of time repeatedly to crop and save, crop and save, crop and save...

select areas that you want to crop

and enter

You can already achieve this with a script. Simply create selections and save the selections. Then you can iterate through the saved selections, loading each one, cropping, saving and undo-ing. I'm sure there's some enterprising script writer out there that would be willing to throw this together.

You can ask for help on the Scripting User to User forum:

or on PS-Script.com:

In another similar thread I proposed rather using Paths, because one can contain any number of rectangular subPaths within a Path an that may be more comfortable than saving the selections individually.

Any easy way to do multiple cropping in the new Photoshop CC? I was looking for the same type of shortcut described in this thread from a few years ago.

No, nothing has been added to do multiple cropping.

Still nothing huh? I have to pay a guy to save images from a scan. That's sucks.

Have you pursued the option of automating the task with a Script (and Paths for example)?

You mean find million and a half work arounds? Yeah doing it for years. Having multiple cropping abilities would be awesome. And time saving.

I meant »getting serious« about automating Photoshop tasks by using JavaScript. (Not sure if »million and a half work arounds« was intended to include that or not.)
I don’t mean to deny the validity of this Feature Requests but if something can be automated as it is the people controlling resource-allocation at Adobe may not consider it worth the trouble to implement another Tool or amend an existing Tool’s functionality for that.

This would be super cool feature to be able to save for example 60 scanned images with 3-4 images in each scan. I would like to select mini crops. This would be also great doing photography and able to save multiple crops at once. And even with the marquee tool you still need to transform and align the images before exporting the layers at once.
