Photoshop CC 2014: Re-launches automatically after I quit

Photoshop CC 2014 (15.2.1) re-launches automatically after I quit. I quit the app, and immediately it opens up again. I quit, and it opens again. Very frustrating on a laptop where it forces my graphics card on and diminishes battery life. Sometimes creating a blank file and closing without saving changes will then cause PS to stay quit (which is weird). Has happened to others as posted in the Adobe forums.

Are you using Monotype Sky Fonts?

I forgot to say that this has happened to me on multiple Macs, running 10.9 Mavericks and 10.10 Yosemite.

This is quite annoying because PS causes my graphics card to turn on which diminishes battery life.

Which OS/version are you on? Do you have a link to the thread on the U2U forums?

As I said in my post, Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks or 10.10 Yosemite (the latest version of each). Here's the link to the Adobe forum https://forums.adobe.com/message/6882364

Ok. What troubleshooting steps have you tried? http://bit.ly/Troubleshoot_PS

Have you tried restoring your prefs?

Do you have any 3rd party Photoshop plug-ins installed?

Are you running any system extensions? They usually show up here in System Preferences:

Can you tell if Photoshop is exiting normally? (e.g. Photoshop isn't crashing or being force quit)

When Photoshop relaunches, is there a document open after Photoshop launches?

Dan,

I'd like you to try the following:

1. Go to the PS Help menu and select Help > Welcome...
2. From the Welcome screen, scroll down to the bottom of the New Features panel and check the box that says "Do not show Welcome screen again"
3. Go to Windows > Libraries and use the fly-out menu to close the Libraries panel
4. now quit and re-launch Photoshop

Does the problem still occur once both the Welcome screen and Libraries panel are no longer loading?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Adam

Yes I am. Someone on the other thread said that seems to be the problem. I can't replicate the problem at the moment, but when it happens again I'll see if turning that off fixes it. I'm hoping it does, and that maybe they can fix the issue if that's the case.

Restoring Prefs never worked, and I've always hidden the Welcome screen. I also don't have the Library panel shown either.

I'm in contact with Monotype folks. Hopefully can work with them to find a solution.

I've tested it a few times, and Sky Fonts does indeed seem to be the problem.
