Photoshop CC 2015: 'Export as' not working - empty/blank dialog

Attempting to export assets via the new 'Export as' option in the newly updated Photoshop 2015 but all i get back is a blank screen. I've seen it work on a colleagues computer just doesn't work on mine.

Any ideas?

I've rebooted my computer and even re-installed PS.

Try Turning off "Enable Generator" in preferences. Quit Photoshop. Run Photoshop Turn on Enable Generator. Quit Photoshop. Run Photoshop, see if that helps.

OK apparently the update DID work for me in the end. Somehow CC did not install the newest version of Photoshop despite the fresh install of the whole system 2 days ago (maybe it's because CC for Teams). Current setup:
Win 10
PS CC 2015.1.2 / 20160113.r.355 x64

And it works.

My window doesn't even open... clicking the "export as" button does nothing for me. Great...

Doesn't use any proxy and have the latest version.

I'm unable to Export As with Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5.1, OS X 10.11.6. My image size is 1419px x 632px. The attached screenshot is all I see when I click Export As. I need to keep using the Save for Web (Legacy).

Good thing Save for Web is still better in many cases. Whatever implementation they chose for the Export dialog clearly isn't the most stable solution... :-/

Checking 'Enable Remote Connections' and supplying my Adobe CC login fixed it for me.   Strange but true ...

I have had this issue and now have a work around. (Update did not fix this.)All you have to do is create a new document in Photoshop and drag the layers or even the whole artboard to the new document. Boom. You can export now.

Hope this works for you. Not a fix but better than nothing.

J. If you are having to Enable Remote Connections to let the Export As work, it suggests there are additional security settings enabled on your computer that this setting is allowing you to get around. Not sure what kinds of settings would cause that, but it would most likely be involved with firewall or other connection regulators. Export As has to connect locally to computer resources in order to operate. If local connections get blocked, it can prevent this feature from working.

Matt, if you find this behavior is actually file specific, we would like to take a look at the file that is encountering the problem to see if we can reproduce on our end and find the source of the issue.

Well, the file I had only had a couple of layers. When I opened a large file with 40+ layers the technique only worked on about 6 layers out of the 40.

Sorry everyone. I should have tested further.

Can you provide a file for us to test with?

Same Problem.

The plugin adobe-preview-generator-plugin is incompatible with this version of generator-core. generator-core version: 3.5.0, plugin compatibility: ~3.4.0

Are you using 2015.1 or 2015.5.1? Sounds like some things are out of date and mis-matched. Make sure Photoshop is Up-To-Date: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/uptodate.html

Can you guys stop saying you have the same problem unless it has a slightly different variation? We know that it's common, but adding the comment that you have the "same problem" doesn't help the discussion.

By the way, I have the same problem.

Did anything help?

Hi everyone, the solution is you have to update your video card driver. Clean install the new video card driver. I've been struggling with the same problem for months. Uninstall & reinstall didn't work. Even updating photoshop won't help either. It was only when I updated my GeForce driver that fixed the black screen problem during 'export as' and the 'new document' popup windows. Hope this solution will help you.

I have the same problem, but it turned out that the problem had to do with using VPN, even though my VPN had been configured to be used on one of my application only. After I turned off the VPN, the problem is gone.

So, if you've tried getting rid of your preferences and still couldn't fix the problem. Look for any network related issues that would affect this function, and you probably could just revert to your old preferences (I did).
