Photoshop CS6: Selective Color Layer Dropdown Grayed Out

Occasionally, when using Selective Color Layer, the "Colors" dropdown menu that adjusts individual colors is grayed out and not available. A couple of times using the Hue/Saturation Layer the same thing would happen with the "Presets" dropdown menu. I have had to resort to closing PS and starting again. Only happens with PSCS6 and not PSCS5. win 7

Hmm, haven't heard of anyone else with that problem.

A third party plugin could interfere with the menus, or an external utility that tries to modify the OS UI controls (we've seen similar things before).

I have plug-ins installed in cs5 but not in cs6 where the problem occurs. Don

Then do you have any utility programs installed that would change UI behavior? Or any other applications running that might alter UI behavior?

This behavior is associated with the new crop tool. When I switch to the perspective crop tool the problem goes away.

I have the same problem with using the crop tool makes the selective color gray out to the last color adjusted. Using the perspective tool and selecting the entire image and making a crop(which doesn't actually make any crop) is the only way to fix the issue for me other than restarting the program. I'm not using any plugins.

Thanks, Chris. This worked for me. Winder why Adobe hasn't addressed the problem.

It should be fixed in the photoshop 13.01 update as long as something else on your system is not causing it.

In photoshop cs6; Help>Updates

Thank you Dan. The update date did appear to fix it.

Another way to do this is to reset your warning dialogs. Edit> Preferences>General>Reset all Warning Dialogs (at the bottom)
This fixes the problem for me!

Glad it worked for you. I had to use it the other day again too!

I closed CS6 and loaded CS5 and it's still greyed out.

It is happening for me with both CS5 and CS6.

What worked for me was going in via Windows->Adjustments (panel) instead of the tools menu at the top (Image->Adjustments).  This displays an array of adjustment icons and Selective Color worked.
