Photoshop: Layers menu stops opening after 15 "open/close"

After opening/closing the layers menu 15 times I am not able to access any part of photoshop without using the main menu bar. No panels and no other menus work. I've found that the best way to resolve the issue is to restart the program. This has been happening since creative cloud updated to 2020.  Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue?

Hi Cate,
Which version of Photoshop are you running?  Is this a problem with the mouse no longer responding to clicks on the Layers panel?  Have you tried relaunching PS?  We are aware of a problem along these lines and we are working on a fix.
Thanks,David

Hello David,
Up until yesterday's update, I was using 12.1.1.
I use the Apple Magic Trackpad which still works on the project area when this occurs however, the layers panel just disappears and is no longer selectable.
I've found that whenever this occurs the only way to fix it is to relaunch PS, but this can result in 10+ relaunches in a single project.
Let me know if I can provide any additional details!

Howdy Cate!
Thanks for the info.  I would love to see your System Info, as Jeff suggested.  Also, the next time the layers panel disappears, I'd love to see a screenshot.
Thanks!David

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Hello Jeffrey, I am not sure if it's a creative cloud change, but I'm not able to acquire any info data from the Photoshop help menu.  Is there another place I should be looking for this information?

Howdy Cate,
Could you post a screenshot of what you see when you try to access Help?  Heck, wanna do a web-hosted screenshare, so I can help you out?
Let me know,Thanks,David

I've managed to fix/bypass this issue by experimenting with photoshop memory usage. I had it around 45% while this problem was common, and have all but resolved it when the memory usage was closer to 65%. I recommend this solution as it's a quicker solution to bypass restarting the program and reopening files multiple times.

Howdy Kate,
Thanks for the update.  How big were the files you were working with?  And how many did you have open at a time?
Thanks,David
