Rounded Rectangle Tool Has Disappeared -- Photoshop 2021 version 22.3.0 on an iMac running Big Sur 11.2.3

Hello. I am using Adobe Photoshop 2021 version 22.3.0 on an iMac running Big Sur 11.2.3.

I don't know what happened, but just now when I was using it, I suddenly realized that the Rounded Rectangle tool had disappeared from my tools palette.

So, I clicked on Edit -> Toolbar to see what was going on, and to hopefully restore the Rounded Rectangle tool to my palette.

Well, it is NOT there; neither in the "Toolbar" column on the left side of the window, or in the "Extra Tools" column on the right side of the window.

As a last resort, I clicked on the "Restore Defaults" button on the far right side of the same window. Doing that did not help, and the Rounded Rectangle tool is nowhere to be found.

In fact, I also restarted Photoshop a few times, and then even rebooted my iMac, yet still, the Rounded Rectangle tool is nowhere to be found.

I really need this tool, because I use it very frequently. In fact, just about every time that I use Photoshop.

I hope that someone can assist me in getting it back.

Thank you in advance.

Use the Rectangle tool and specify the corner radius.

@lumigraphics Yes, I can do that, but that doesn’t explain why the Rounded Rectangle tool has suddenly disappeared from my tools palette, and is no longer visible under Edit -> Toolbar.

As I said, using it is a regular part of my work flow, and I would really like to know how to get it back again.

I guess the basic question is this: Did Adobe remove the Rounded Rectangle tool from the macOS version of Photoshop for some reason, or is something broken in my Photoshop installation which is causing the Rounded Rectangle tool to not appear?

If something is broken, how do I fix it without losing all of my imported styles, and other new styles I have created?

Hi, yes, from this link:

"With the March 2021 release of Photoshop 22.3, the Rounded Rectangle tool has been removed. However, you can easily use the improved Rectangle tool with the capability to draw rounded rectangles with a field to set corner radii."

Thank you @lumigraphics and @pierre_courtejoie for the clarification. I keep pretty busy here, so whenever I see that there is an update listed under the Creative Cloud icon in my macOS menubar, I just click on the update button, and that is it. I don't always take the time to read the release notes. Yeah, so I am guilty. :)

I feel this, I use the rounded version for my designs for Twitch overlays, had a mini heart attack just now when I couldnt see it! :( More effort to have to make a rectangle then do the corners, having that tool eliminated the need - hope they bring it back

It become complicated with this. Mine use to have a fixed radius, now I have to change it every time I need a Straight Rectangle or a Rounded One. More work to do... thank you Adobe!
