What are the three basic steps in Retouching?

Effective Retouching is done in three steps, in sequence, because you look for something different each time. The first and most important stage in the editing process is the macro-edit, also called a content edit or a developmental edit. In this stage, an editor (or you, the writer, if

Adobe Shortcut Inconsistencies

I am working for decades with your apps, photoshop 1.0 and indd 1.0. I experience several keyboard inconsistencies between your apps. You have great ideas, but miss the more important thing to take care for the pro workflow with the keyboard. Most annoying, try to escape out of camera raw via photos

Camera Raw: Wish the crop was the same between Elements and Photoshop

I'm currently writing a photo editing class and I teach out of PSE and PS. I plan to teach just the basics as it's a hobby for the community I sell to. So using the PSE lite version of ACR is fine because we won't be doing anything advanced in the class. That said, I really wish that the PS ACR woul

Elements: 11 dng export and preview not sharp

As I have already discussed on the Adobe community forum, I am having trouble exporting to JPG and previewing DNG files from the organiser. The export seems to completely ignore the sharpness settings I have made in ACR 7.1 and ACR 7.3. See http://forums.adobe.com/message/49316... for more details

Lightroom: Add function "Convert *from* DNG".

Some people convert to DNG, then run into trouble (generally due to software compatibility or lack thereof) and want to convert back. Others never convert to DNG, because they don't want to run into a problem and not be able to convert back. Consider implementing a feature to convert from DNG back

I love using Lightroom to process raw DNGs from my Canon "jpeg-only" shooter.

If you think its not worth shelling out for Lightroom because you only own a point&shoot Canon, think again! Coupled with CHDK to capture the raw data in DNG format, results using Lightroom (ACR) are far better than what you would otherwise be able to achieve shooting jpegs in camera.

In ACR the save presets (to save a save option), option has been removed, is there something I am missing

presets in the save dialog in Adobe Camera Raw, where did it go? This save was a feature so you could save the presets for whatever the use of the file was going to be; such as DPI color space etc

Inaccurate color when processing RAW in Lightroom

When I try to edit photos I took with my Nikon Coolpix P330 in RAW format, I notice that areas that have a reddish color come out over saturated. In the same picture in JPEG format, the reddish colors are displayed correctly. Colors that are purple in real life and in the JPEG file show up as blue.

Lightroom: A simple way to accelerate RAW exporting on multicore CPUs. I guess it is simple to implement.

Hello, Everyone knows that LR is not properly multithreaded because of Camera RAW conception. When you export a bunch of pics, your CPU is hardly 50% charged with pics and wholes. But I found a simple (manual) way to accelerate RAW exporting, that can be easily implemented as an automatic function
