Lightroom SDK: viewFactory:picture - crashes Lightroom when picture data is a little wonky

Doesn't take much to bring down the house. Jpeg files that are (not perfect but) viewable with ACDSee & NX2, will bring Lightroom all the way down. A bit of robustening would not be contra-indicated... To recreate problem, try inserting cr/lf at the front of a jpeg file, then try to view it with t

Lightroom Cam - Shooting in low resolution (4000x3000) instead of (6000x8000) - Oppo Find X2

Hi, Find x2 uses 48mp Sony IMX586 sensor. Lightroom shoot photos with 4000x3000 (12mp) instead 6000x8000 (48mp). There is no setting that can effect this in lightroom app, or in the phone itself. And I don't know why its down sampling to 12mp.  (Of course I can use 48mp with phone's buil

Lightroom SDK: catalog:findPhotoByPath should not be case sensitive

This function is called when working "back" from a disk file to a corresponding photo in the catalog. The disk file path is case insensitive, but the method is not. Thus, if a user changes the case of files on disk, this method fails.

Lightroom SDK: LrApplication.getPath() -- get path to Lr executable file

It would be helpful, e.g. when creating bat files which start or restart Lightroom, to know path to Lightroom. Tnks, R. It's easy enough to have field for user to edit, but then it needs to be fixed everytime user updates Lr version.

Lightroom 5 SDK: photo:createDevelopSnapshot( name, true ) -- creates duplicate snapshot if photo is virtual copy.

I believe this symptom is related to the fact that photo:getDevelopSnapshots() returns an empty array if photo is virtual copy, i.e. Lr is only recording develop snapshots for master, so snapshot created by virtual copy never seems like a duplicate. So, one needs to always have logic like this when

Lightroom SDK: add method "reload" to LrDevelopPreset object, to reload settings from disk.

This would allow plugins to alter presets - without requiring a restart for changes to take effect. Also, features to: * create new user presets. * move/rename existing presets. * delete presets. etc. would be good. ~R.

Lightroom SDK: shared widths are dialog-box-wide, so one plugin's shared widths may screw up another's layout.

shared widths are dialog-box-wide, so one plugin's shared widths may screw up anothers layout. e.g. if I write width = LrView.share( 'my_width' ) and another plugin sharing the dialog box (e.g. export filter) also has width = LrView.share( 'my_width' ) then both plugins will have width of compo

Lightroom SDK: viewFactory:picture - unreliable when picture is video file.

Sometimes the picture component displays a preview of the video, sometimes it displays nothing, and sometimes it crashes Lightroom. Either of those last two can happen with the same video. Consider robustening the component, and/or updating the documentation to specify file types supported (present

Lightroom SDK: add parameter to picture widget to set orientation.

Everybody is trying, but sometimes that darned picture is just not oriented properly. Please allow a way to set it. 0,90,180,270 degree orientations would be enough for me for now. Bonus Idea: --------------- Parameter for icc-profile to be applied (at a minimum 'AdobeRGB').

Lightroom SDK: function to eject disk

A function to eject the disk(s) after importing would be the icing on the cake for my import plugin. I suspect other plugin applications will be able to benefit from this function as well. I know there are ways to do this using command-line utilities, but they are not cross platform... If its not

Lightroom SDK: LrFtp.parent( ftpPath )

There is no proper way to get the parent of a remote dir or file: LrPathUtils.parent returns a platform file-system normalized path (I dont remember that from earlier), and so shouldn't be used directly. So, I suggest an ftp equivalent of the lr-path-utils parent function. Useful for checking if t

Lightroom SDK: need LrFileUtils."make non-writable" too.

Presently, there is a function in LrFileUtils to make a file writable. That's good, but the function to make a file non-writable needs to be implemented too. They're kinda like 2 sides of the same coin, day & night, light & dark, sisters & brothers, or cousins... Thanks, Rob
